Venturing Ducks started with a love of travel, a couple of rubber ducks, and a habit of taking the road less rushed.
WHERE IT STARTED
Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. This photo is me celebrating my first birthday in a caravan in Alice Springs — so you could probably say camping started early.
Since then I’ve travelled in swags, tents, camper trailers, rooftops, campervans, motorhomes and caravans, across Australia and beyond. But my favourite place has always been somewhere under the stars, away from the traffic, with time to slow down and see what’s around us.
HOW THE DUCKS BEGAN
Venturing Ducks really began during the strange days of 2020. Lucky9 became my stand-in for adventures when getting out and about wasn’t so easy, and before long CatDuck joined in too.
What started as two little rubber ducks making lockdown more entertaining turned into something much bigger — a way of sharing places, stories and adventures without needing to be the face of the brand.
Since then, the ducks have travelled all over the place, turning up on road trips, in geocaches and in plenty of unexpected corners along the way.
WHERE WE’RE HEADING
Venturing Ducks is about more than getting from one destination to the next. It’s about the little towns, backroads, campsites, locals, odd discoveries and places people often drive straight past.
We want to share the places worth slowing down for — and encourage people to get out there, explore a little further and make their own stories along the way.
The shop now lives separately, while this site is becoming the home of our travels, stories and everything we discover on the road.
